    A close listen to the structure of most of the songs ‘charting’ in Billboard magazine today will reveal that the structure of the songs are the same. The standard pop song structure is common because repetition is employed to reinforce the chorus. By repeating the same material several times, it stays in our mind more strongly, and (if it’s a good chorus) we walk away humming the main hook.
