There are as many opportunities to become a published, and/or professional, songwriter as there are songs, business people in the industry, and days that go by; such will continue to be the rules of the game until some kind of a standard is formulated. The best and most common rules of thumb most professional songwriters have learned to live by are ‘just keep writing ‘and ‘write because you love it. Of course, that is much easier said than done in times when creativity is hindered by such things as writers block, lack of stimulation, or time constraints/schedule. Make time for your passion.
