ENVIRONMENT IS KEY – FIND THE FEELING First, find yourself a room with no distractions.Turn off your TV maybe even silent your cell phone or turn it off.Once you have gotten rid of all those distractions. Now you can put on the instrumental music that you will be writing the lyrics to and really listen to it and get a feeling for the music “Be at one with the music” “Feel the music” ask yourself what do these sounds of this instrumental make me feel like or what comes to your mind when your hearing these sounds?Once you have figured this out move on to the next step below. FIND THE TOPIC So now that your getting a feeling for the instrumental take those feelings and thoughts and choose the topic of your song. The topic just gives you a subject to write about like maybe a love song or a song about being sick and tired of work. The power of music is that it is all your choice you chose the topic the flow everything just do you!!!!! “you are your music- music is you” So, now that you have your topic of what your gonna write about its time to LET IT ALL POUR OUT!!!!! What Do Want To Learn Most About Songwriting?

  • Songwriter Tip:

Mailing yourself a copy of the songs you have written is a good idea, but don’t rely on this as your primary means of protection. The point of doing this is to indisputably prove that you are the originator of the work in question. However, you need to be prepared to verify under oath that the envelope hasn’t been opened and that the seal on it is intact. Do not use staples or tape, as these can be manipulated. It’s best to seal the envelope as you normally would and then sign your name across the seal in such a way that if the seal is broken, the writing is disturbed.
