  • Songwriter Tip:

Avoid the ‘Big Lie.’ The big lie is one that we all tell ourselves at one time or another, and that is ‘It doesn’t matter if they never heard of me, the song is good enough to stand on it’s own merits. Besides my friends /mother /father/ grandparents /wife/etc. all love it.’ Nonsense. Music industry people are deluged with tapes and have no time to imagine how your song may have sounded if it had been produced properly. If you truly believe that what you have done is the best that you are capable of doing, then commit the resources and do it right. Otherwise, save your time and money for another go at a later date.
