    If you are writing from a lyric, One thing that you should definitely try is to use a metronome against the lyric before you start to create any music at all. Try a variety of different tempo settings. Fewer words generally pose fewer problems, but the challenge is to phrase them in an interesting way against the rhythm. You can also play around with ‘spicing things up a bit’ by trying some of the tempo variables available, such as a slow moving lyric and melody over a double-time groove.
