    Here’s a tip for those of you out there working with synths and sequencers. Be careful of falling in love with the 4 or 8 bar loop that you’ve just created. Sitting there, with the headphones or speakers, the sequencer open, the synths rolling, Etc. is a different listening experience than listening to a CD. Why? Because as composers, we are interacting with the music. A CD is static. If you repeat a four-bar loop for an hour and put it on a CD, the loop with not change, and well, your listeners will fall asleep. You will have an hour of something that’s incredibly boring. Rapping or singing on top of a boring sequence won’t change the fact that the music itself is boring after listening for 1 minuteÉ
